Educational Cooking Workshops for Schools
Cooking is finally to become an integral part of the school curriculum. The new draft National Curriculum, published earlier this year, places cooking and food education in a prominent position within the Design and Technology syllabus, and makes it a compulsory subject for all 7-14 year olds to study. This will be a great stride forward in equipping young people with the knowledge and skills they need to make healthier food choices.
Campaigns to keep children cooking has attracted widespread support, including that from celebrity chefs Jamie Oliver, Raymond Blanc, Ainsley Harriott and Gary Rhodes, and top medical organisations such as the British Medical Association. Even Liverpool and England captain Steven Gerrard has voiced his support.
Stir Krazy Kids are at the forefront of children's cooking education and we are currently developing our unique schools programme for children in primary and secondary as an integral part of children’s schooling. Our fun, creative themed cooking workshops will equip young people with practical cooking and baking skills for life.
A healthy lifestyle will not only have benefits for pupils but for schools too. Pupils can concentrate longer which in turn brings higher levels of achievement.
