With just 3 days to go until our Halloween workshops in Leeds, Harrogate, Ilkley and Thirsk, it’s all hands on deck in the Stir Krazy office.
We’re planning recipes, printing menus, folding aprons and stacking up all sorts of cooking equipment miles high (or so it seems)! You might think we’re all baked-out, but you’d be wrong.
With Diwali next week we thought it only right that our office bakes this week take on an Indian theme. And so we’ve treated ourselves to a Cardamom, Pistachio and Lemon Drizzle Cake courtesy of Sarah (probably the stand out bake of the week), Lentil Cookies thanks to Ruth (or no thanks, depending on how you feel about lentils) and Coconut, Raspberry and Chocolate Brownies which rounded off the week perfectly thanks to Jess.
As will all types of cooking, it’s all too easy to fall into a ‘rut’ and cook the same things over and over. Nothing wrong with having favourites, but picking a particular cuisine or theme is brilliant for making you expand your horizons. You never know, you might find a whole new favourite recipe! We think that could well be Sarah’s drizzle cake this time round.
We’ll, um, reserve judgement on the Lentil Cookies for now.
The theme for our holiday workshops next week is, of course, Halloween. Whether you’re joining us in Leeds, Harrogate, Ilkley or Thirsk, get ready for some uncanny cooks, spine-tingling treats and spooky surprises along the way! We’re very much looking forward to having you on board.
Now, time for a brownie then it’s back to folding those aprons!
Love from Ruth and the Stir Krazy Team x
